CCS reduces greenhouse gas emissions and mitigates climate change.

It has the potential to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from industrial processes by up to 90%.

CCS technologies has been used for +40 years in different areas of the world.

Danish Minister for Climate, Energy and Utilities

"CCS is a crucial technology
for achieving our long-term climate goals
– in Denmark as well as in the rest of the world."

Existing CCS projects in the eu

Approximately 35 CCS projects are currently maturing across Northern Europe.

Even if all projects are successful, we will only have realized ~30% of the CO2 storage needed to meet the Paris Agreement goals (COP21 in 2015).

More large-scale CCS projects are necessary to reach carbon neutrality.
